Corset belts?

You'll probably be questioning the corset belt trend that many big fashion brands have been trying to push forward and incorporate into their recent styles. The idea of corsets and even the corset belt itself that derived from the olden ages into a trendy fashion statement? Really? When Asos started throwing together looks with a plain black corset belt, and later on with different variations, I wasn't buying the look at all. Moving on a couple of months, with more brands jumping onto the trend wagon, I'm actually really considering getting one. *Eyes the laced ribbon one* I guess that's how all trends work don't they ? Subtly but slowly they grow on you.

So, the question is- Corset Belts ? Really? Are they worth your closet space? An impulse item? Or a really cool fashion accessory that will change up your look?

A corset belt is basically a belt that is a quarter waist section of a normal corset, made to look like a belt and synch in your waist for a smaller waist look. I'm thinking these aren't really for synching in the waist when I came across a few brands pairing the corset belt loose such that it falls to the hips. Much more a statement accessory isn't it. These come in different variations, from oddly shaped ones to the more basic ones with a colours ranging other than black.

Here are some corset belt styles inspirations- yes or no ? I'll let you be the judge.
